Today was the big Pizza Party to celebrate our family reading 100 books so far this year!!!
WOOHOO!!!
(We are actually at 148 books now, but parties take time to plan and execute lol).
The kids enjoyed each other's company while the adults chatted; And we all enjoyed pizza, juice, and some delicious Rice Krispy treats!
I am so thankful for our amazingly kind guests who either brought some sort of drink or snack to the party, or offered to bring something.
It made my heart so happy to know that there were people who not only wanted to celebrate my children's love for reading, but also wanted to help our party be a success.
One of my favorite parts of the party was when we tried to do a Mannequin Challenge with the kids.
My kids had actually never even heard of this challenge, lol, so it really was a challenge to make it happen. But I think it turned out really cute.
Kids LOVE challenges. And I think that challenging my kids to see how many books they could read in a year has worked so well to help them find a joy for reading.
Even if it is under their reading level, I let them enjoy picture books. Honestly it is what they love to read the most, and they get so many creative ideas from them. We also read nonfiction and chapter books too!
The main idea here is to find a love for books while discovering all the information and enjoyment they can bring into our lives.
And I am so thankful that they love to read, because it really is the best way to have an adventure at home when we aren't out there adventuring on the road!
Have you read a good book lately? If not, I challenge you to find one you love! Find a book that inspires you! Take some time to read each day. Maybe make a challenge for yourself! How many books can you read in a year?
Speaking of reading, this momma is going to go enjoy a nice hot bath and do some reading of her own.
Have a beautiful evening. Sending you all lots of love!!!
Please keep praying for our world. Pray for our country. Pray for my family. Pray for me. Pray for you! And always always pray for my sweet sweet Elijah.
Thank you thank you thank you!
Elijah, a sweet lady who I have never talked to before just now,
just sent me a message on Facebook saying
that she did an act of kindness in your memory today.
That is the power of love kiddo.
Your love is changing the world.
And I love it.
I love you so much.
Miss you my boogie.
Always
<3

Love the fact that y'all read over 100 books. Great job. Not so good on the mannequin challenge. Lol. But as always y'all persevere together. Love you.
