609: Cornrows

It is 11:13pm

I am listening to Jack Johnson radio on Pandora, and just finished trying to cornrow Levi's hair lol.

He wants to keep the top part of his hair long to show the boys that it is okay for men to have long hair, but he also has to make sure it is completely out of his face while he is fighting.

I tried my best, but it looks like he will probably have to have it professionally done the week of his fight, because I didn't do such a great job lol.

But I had to laugh, because while I was braiding his hair a Bob Marley song came on, and I just thought of how crazy we are sometimes. The only thing that would have made that moment any better would be that we have this school bus parked on a beach somewhere listening to the waves crash on a starry beach.

I am thankful for our weird life. While it is surely not perfect, it is ours and we do it pretty well--I think.

I am also thankful Levi came home for this weekend. My anxiety lowers about 10000 times with him here.

The boys were also extremely happy to see him home.

We are proud of him for his fighting and can't wait to where it takes him, but it would really be nice for us all to be together as a family everyday.

Maybe we will get the bus moved up to Shreveport someday.

I did a word count on my novel last night and it looks I am about 1/4 done. I know that doesn't sound like a lot but a young adult novel is about 60,000 words. That is a lot.

But I am still going through and adding more detail and rewriting things, so it is just growing more and more everyday.

And I am enjoying it--which is nice.

Things have been kind of rough lately, so it was nice to have a nice evening.

I hope you guys are having a nice evening too.

I love you all.

Please keep praying for our world. Pray for our country. Pray for my family. Pray for me. Pray for you! And always always pray for my sweet Elijah.

Thank you.

Oh sweet boy.
Can we just go back to this moment.
The moment where everything made sense,
and you were just fresh and newly in my arms.
You were like perfection to me.
You made me so happy.
I miss you so much.
I love you more.

It is 8:49am. Everyone is still asleep... I have my "happy light" shining into my  peripheral  vision, and my vitamins and medic...
