Today I did okay with not complaining. Except for mentioning my back hurt to Levi...usually I complain to him about everything....poor guy..
But other than that, I slipped a little in traffic, but held strong the rest of the day with no complaints.
I had another short day at work, and then I picked up the kids from school and we left to be early for their MMA classes...and to beat I-4 traffic going downtown.
Since it was leap day, I wanted to take advantage of the extra day and do some extra acts of kindness in Elijah's memory.
So we went on a brief walk and stopped at a nearby grassy park area, where I drew some inspirational pictures with chalk on the sidewalk.
Once we got back to the gym, I donated my charity miles to Every Mother Counts, donated a photo of Elijah to help a newborn breathe, and then wrote some cards for other Angel moms.
The kids did great in class...even Gabriel started off kind of strong (even though it didn't last long).
Alex and Julien earned their first stripe on their belts and they were super excited and proud. I am pretty proud too.
When we got home the kindness continued. I donated $1 to Food not Bombs, lit an online candle for Elijah and his friends in heaven (and their parents), and I compliment bombed my friends on Facebook.
It was not all that I wanted to do today, but it was more than I usually do, and it was an extra day to spread kindness...so I think we did okay.
I just miss Elijah so much...and I think he knew that because today I heard one of our songs on the radio 3 times and I hadn't heard it much lately. (Photograph by Ed Sheeran)
Oh my sweet Elijah,
I can't even put into words how much I miss you today.
I am thankful for the extra day to spread kindness in your name,
but then that thankfulness is overshadowed by the storm cloud that follows me around
since you have left my side.
I will push harder for you, and I will be kinder than ever for you...
but just know that it only makes me miss you more.
We are going to change the world together kiddo..
I promise you!
I love you my boogie.
I miss you so much.
<3
