I JUST got the kids to bed...
And when I sat down at my computer, I had a message from a friend of mine saying she was "patiently waiting for my blog post." :)
Have you guys ever read the children's books "Hunches and Bunches" by Dr. Seuss?
I just read it for the first time and it was really kind of interesting lol.
It talks about this little boy who can't make up his mind, and all the different hunches he gets.
And every time he thought he was following a "good" hunch, a "bad" hunch would get in his way.
"Oh you get so many hunches
that you don't know ever quite
if the right hunch is a wrong hunch!
Then the wrong hunch might be the right!"
Anyways, in the end, the hunches are so out of control that the little boy has to create four of himself to talk and argue with these hunches until they all finally decided on the right hunch to follow...
Are ya'll ready for this?
"And I finally followed a Munch Hunch,
the best hunch of the bunch!
I followed him into the kitchen
and had six hot dogs for lunch."
Ok, so maybe the end hunch wasn't the best hunch to follow diet wise, or health wise, but it was the hunch that made the little boy most happy.
During our daily lives, we will find ourselves facing all sorts of hunches.
Sadly for us, we can not split into four different people and talk down all of these hunches. We have to be one strong person and find a way to just quiet our mind and figure out which hunch is the right hunch.
(oh my gosh, how many times have I used the word hunch so far? lol...it is so late. I should be in bed. You will have to excuse my delirious blogging.)
Maybe this quote I found the other day is a little bit more accurate of the daily challenges of "hunches in bunches" we face:
"Whenever you permit yourself to think what
persons, things, conditions, or circumstances may suggest,
you are not following what you want to think.
You are not following your own desires but borrowed desires.
Use your imagination in determining what you want to think or do."
I hope we are getting closer to the point of this blog lol.
Basically what I am trying to say is, even when things are falling apart and your mind is racing in a thousand different directions, you are the one who has to make the decision to do what is right for you.
Don't let the distracting "hunches," or popular opinion, or the negativity of other people decide what is best for you. Only you can truly do that.
Seriously, are you living your life for you? Are you doing what you love?
I just see so many people struggling in struggles they don't have to face. And I really want nothing else for them but to find freedom and to find happiness.
I know there are true heartaches in the world. I have lived through one of the worst. And I'm not talking about grief or trauma here. And if you have lost someone you love, or been the victim of such tragedies I am so sorry.
I am talking about the avoidable struggles. The avoidable worries. The avoidable drama.
You are where it stops. And you are where your happiness begins.
Choose freedom. Choose happiness. Choose you.
Only you can do it. Start now.
Alright. It is way past time for bed.
Thank you for reading through my rambles. I am sending you all love and sweet dreams. And plenty of sunshine tomorrow!
Please keep praying for our world. Pray for our country. Pray for my family. Pray for me. Pray for you! And always always pray for my sweet Elijah.
Thank you.
Look at how Julien adores you.
You two were so sweet together.
Gosh I miss you so much.
I heard that song, "I hope you dance," tonight at Zumba
and the tears just flowed from my eyes.
Even in the happiest moments,
I still feel like you should be here.
I miss you so much,
but will always love you more.
