845: Prolouge (and a story you have to read)...

It is 9:04pm.

We are back home. So many things to catch up on! A bus to clean, a little library to finish, some emails to send, and a novel to finish.

I want to share a bit of my rewrite with you, but first I want to tell you about something that happened this evening that has me feeling really connected with Elijah (and the Universe).

So, my family and I are doing the "How many books can your family read in a year challenge?" thing again this year and on the way home from Granny's I decided to listen to one of my audiobooks. The book is about a family that travels around the world in nine months. In part of their travels they talked about noodles and it got me craving Pho. So when we got home, I told Levi I was going to go get some noodles. Well, it turns out the place I went to doesn't have the noodles I wanted, but I got some sweet and sour chicken and all was good, and it was time to go home. On the way home I came to a red light and kind of had one of those, "which way should I go" moments. I decided to go straight and drove past Walgreens. All of a sudden I had this strong feeling that I needed to stop at Walgreens. At first I didn't listen and I drove past it, but it wasn't long until I let this restless feeling inside of me bring me back to the store and to the discount candy isle. I picked up some peanut M&M's and little candies for the kids and wondered why in the world did I feel like I needed to be there. I still didn't get it, but I got in line--because let's face it I'm a weirdo--and I convinced myself it was just some kind of weird anxiety attack. But here's the thing, when I stepped in line another woman stepped out and then back in behind me. I didn't say anything because the line was long and I already felt like a fool stopping because of this "feeling" I had in the car driving by. I continued to look around, trying to shake this really odd feeling that I needed to be there. That's when the lady in front of me started having problems with her card. The cashier asked her to run it again, and it declined--yet again. So I heard myself say, "I'll get it." And I did.

Here is the thing, she wasn't buying anything meaningful. She wasn't buying medicine for her kids, or food that she needed. She was only buying snacks and some Snapples. But have you ever had one of those days were you really just needed some comfort food? Maybe today was her day. I don't know. And I still don't know why it was so important that I stop and be the one to pay for her items--but it felt really good. And when I got home and I dug out the kids' candy I saw the receipt and my heart started to beat a little faster. She bought sunflower seeds, and when I took a picture of the receipt to share with you guys, my thumb pointed to the numbers 65. Elijah's birthday is June 5th--6/5.

Sometimes I am the biggest doubter of the heavens and beyond. I don't know what's out there, and I have a hard time grasping why terrible things happen to good people. But then moments like this happen, and I know with all my heart that I am somehow still connected to my Elijah, and that there has to be more to the universe than the here and now.

So wow, that turned out to be a much longer "short story" than I had expected lol, but if you want to continue reading I would love to share the first draft, newly written, prologue of my novel. It is still the same one I have been writing, this is just some back story to The Heavens. PLEASE REMEMBER IT IS JUST A FIRST DRAFT:

The Creation of The Universe (A Prologue To Our Story):

Before human understanding existed, there lived The Creator. There also lived Chaos.

The Creator lived in The Heavens: a place of love and order. A place of light. A place of peace.

Chaos lived in Purgatory: a place of passion and ferity. A place of darkness. A place of muddled madness.

The Creator would often journey into the darkness to try and find Chaos because he believed that he could bring her into the light and help her find peace. However, whenever Chaos heard him coming, she would often go into hiding because she was content in her wild ways. She saw no reason to change or go to The Heavens. Purgatory was her home.

On one journey, The Creator found Chaos dancing in a ring of raging fire. He crouched behind a large stone and watched quietly as she swayed winsomely to the music of accompanying fairies. Her long flowing red hair donned majestic flowers of bright pinks and blues. She began to sing and The Creator felt his heart beat a little faster with each word that flowed from her lips.

Convinced these new feelings were a product of Purgatory’s madness, The Creator returned to The Heavens to try and find clarity. However, he was not able to shake his new found fascination. He soon returned to see her again- this time not to persuade her to come to The Heavens, but to be present with the wild an unruly Chaos.

On this visit, Chaos welcomed The Creator to the fire and together they sat with the flames. He saw a beauty in her wildness that he had not noticed before. She felt his presence of peace and found a calm that she had never known in his smile. Together they found balance, then they found love. Out of that love they gave birth to The Universe, the planets and all the stars.

Of all of their creations, Chaos grew most fond of the planet Earth. The Creator knew this, and made magnificent forests and tall mountains for her to explore. Chaos would visit the Earth frequently but found her trips to be lonely. She asked for The Creator to join her on Earth, and there they gave birth to two more children: Time and Death.

The birth of the two Earthly children was much different. Unlike The Universe and the planets, these children closely resembled The Creator and Chaos. They were made in their image and likeness. They had two arms, two legs, and a full head of fiery red hair like their mother.

One day, while on a walk with his mother, Time stepped in a still calm stream near the family’s home and Chaos stood in amazement as the water began to move rapidly around the small child. The water became so strong that it knocked Time over and into the grass. Each blade he touched turned instantly into tall winding weeds or full blooming wild flowers. Everything he touched seemed to be set in motion.

Startled and confused, Chaos scooped Time into her arms and hurried back to tell The Creator about her son’s effect on The Earth. Upon her arrival The Creator grabbed her face and asked what happened—her once eternally youthful face now looked old and worn. Chaos told The Creator about Time making the water move and the grass grow rapidly. She explained that anything Time touched seemed to move and change. She had not thought that his touch would also make her body change, for in Purgatory she was immortal and her body was forever young. It seemed that her time on Earth was changing her as well.

The Creator became worried about Chaos. Her body continued to grow weaker and weaker. She could not touch her children without the fear of becoming more ill. He decided that he would bring his family back to The Heavens—there she would be immortal.

Together the family climbed to the top of a mountain that stood taller than any of the other mountains. The mountain reached beyond the clouds and offered a passageway to The Heavens. The Creator carried Chaos along the way as her face turned frail and tired. Time and  Death trailed behind them, watching the sky turn from warm to hot, and then cool to cold. As they traveled the trees around them sprouted beautiful green leaves that changed into a fiery red that matched their mothers hair, before turning a deep dark brown and falling to the ground.

As they reached the top of the mountain, Chaos fell quiet and the first snowflake fell. Death and Time stood still. A single tear fell from The Creator’s eye and from it a door of ice grew from the cold earth. As the door opened The Creator carried Chaos across it quickly. As they crossed over to The Heavens Chaos took a breath and her hair began to glow a fiery red again. She stood slowly on her feet and regained her strength and youthful glow.

Relieved to see their mother return to herself, Death and Time rushed to the doorway. However, they found that they could not cross. They pressed and pushed against an invisible shield, crying for their parents. Chaos screamed for her children as the door began to close in front of her. The Creator tried everything he could, but seemed to be powerless over Earth’s barrier. It was as if the planet had decided to keep the children for herself.

Alright, time to spend some time with Levi before he heads back to Shreveport tomorrow.

Sending you all lots of love. Hope you are having a great 2018. This is the year to make your dreams come true!

Keep praying for our world. Pray of our Earth. Pray for each other. Pray for our families. Pray for our children. Pray for hope. Pray for love. Pray for peace. Pray for you! Pray for me. And always always pray for my sweet sweet Elijah.

Thank you.

I believe that we are connected.
Thank you for being my wonderful and beautiful son.
I love you so much.
Always.
<3

It is 8:49am. Everyone is still asleep... I have my "happy light" shining into my  peripheral  vision, and my vitamins and medic...
