Today I worked more on Elijah's Little Library. I got some of the names put on one side and started working on the art work for the other side:
The second picture is terrible in quality because the lighting in here is not the greatest at night, and I am using my cellphone--not a high quality camera lol. Obviously this side is not done....well neither side is really.
I had to ask my friend Laurel to remake the other list of names because I had some transferring problems with the decal--also we were missing some names. But she will get them to me Monday(ish), and after that I will apply a sealant that will cover and protect all the decoupage and THEN we will get the door put together, the post built and FINALLY open the library! Never in a million years did I think it would take so long, but I am glad that I am able to personalize it in ways that really matter. I know it is going to be amazing and Elijah will be proud.
I think I may have an idea for a new book series. I still want to keep my Eli The Crawfish stories going. I love Eli, and I think there are many stories he could tell about Louisiana. Louisiana is such an interesting state full of history and rich culture. BUT, I want Elijah to change the world so I am going to illustrate a little boy and help him do just that! We will start in the United States and then begin to travel other countries around the world, studying how they practice kindness while spreading kindness of our own. If I do this right, the books will fund family travels where we can continue to spread kindness in memory of Elijah and actually change the world for him. I will share travels on our Youtube Channel and this blog. And we can also donate books to charities. I feel confident that this is my best possible chance at making a real change for Elijah. Now to just make it happen.
I love you guys but it is time to go take a bath, and get some rest because tomorrow I start on our new adventure.
Wish me luck and love. I wish you guys all the happiness in the world. Big things are about to happen!
(P.S. I haven't given up on my novel, I just know how to write children's books and children are the future. I just think this is a good place to start. We will tap in to the adult mind a little later.)
Keep praying for our world. Pray for our Earth. Pray for each other. Pray for our families. Pray for our children. Pray for hope. Pray for love. Pray for peace. And always always pray for our sweet sweet Elijah.
Thank you!
Oh sweet boy.
I know it is not going to be "easy"
but I think that maybe this is really it!
This is the way we change the world for you.
I hope so.
I love and miss you so much.
Always.
