853: Thrift Store Love

It is 8:50pm.

I just gave the kids a 30 minutes until "bedtime" warning, so I am going to try and knock this blog out, because after they go to sleep I am going to try and finish putting the second coat on Elijah's Library.

It is supposed to rain tomorrow (again), so waiting to get outside is not an option.

I also tried transferring my storyboard onto a website on the internet today, only to find out that if I wanted to use more than 9 squares I would have to pay $99 a year...lol. So, I guess that is not happening tonight. I will just make a spreadsheet tomorrow-as suggested by my genius husband <3

Today has been a wonderfully relaxed day. I had tax class this morning, and then went to Goodwill and made some amazing finds! I found this amazing journal for the kids -we are using separate notebooks so that they can all share in the fun:

So, while whoever previously owned this left the inside immaculate,

it looks like they had some fun with the cover lol. 

We used the $1 journal tonight together and the kids (Julien and Alex), wrote 3 compliments each to surprise people they care about.

I even got one compliment from each kid!

Julien stuck his compliment to my head in order to "surprise me." 

I think this is a wonderful little way to introduce more kindness into our days--especially for the kids.

Another wonderful addition to our family was our $2 Board Game find. Have you ever played Blokus? It is actually really fun, and really pretty:

Just gave the kids a 15 minute warning. I think I am going to wrap this up, and go pee before I have to sit and read lol. (Levi says I should probably keep these kinds of thoughts to myself lol. But what fun what that be?)
