I am about to head out to a volunteer tax preparations class. This afternoon my goal is to knock out 4 illustrations (yesterday I only finished two). So I am blogging now, so that I can come home to a clean slate and go straight to work.
I also wanted to blog while this thought was fresh on my mind! In a book I just read, the author suggested making a Pinterest board and naming it "your name copyright." Here you would pin things that you liked and it would help you find your individual "style."
So I made my board, and found it brought me much more than a "style." I brought me positivity and simple joy. I LOVED pinning things that I love. I loved pinning quotes that made me feel lifted and inspired. It was a nice break from the cynical world around me.
While I don't encourage being attached to your phone, there are always moments where we find ourselves mindlessly scrolling to kill time while waiting somewhere for something or someone. I actually really love to pin while taking a hot bath. It is almost like a meditation for me. It clears my mind and lets me focus on joy.
If you would like, try building your own "your name copyright" board and pin the things that make you happy. Pin them without any rhyme or reason or fear of what others think. Pin them without worrying if you have the money to enjoy these things. The point is to not let your limitations steal your joy. The point is to dream and be happy. Because you know what? You deserve to dream and be happy.
Here is my board, if you want to sneak a peek. Remember that my board is all about me and might not make sense to you. It doesn't have to! Your board will probably be much different, and that is okay:

Sending you all lots of love. Have a beautiful day.
Continue to pray for our world. Pray for our earth. Pray for each other. Pray for peace. Pray for joy. Pray for love. Pray for hope. Pray for you! Pray for me. And always always pray for my sweet sweet Elijah.
Thank you.
Perfection.
I love and miss you so much Elijah.
Always.
