I just finished the illustrations for the cover of my new book. I am still pretty awake, thanks to an afternoon nap and a large cup of coffee.
Today I have pretty much stayed at this desk and painted. I did manage to sneak away for a little while to bring the boys to see some reptiles at the Library. We met one adorable bearded dragon named Poe. I'm glad we got to go. I think the boys are too. I have been pretty consumed with work lately.
Never let the fact that I am not at a 9 to 5 job fool you into thinking I do not work. I am always at work in one way or another--right now my work is this book.
I would love to say I am done with illustrations, but I still have a interior cover page to design, and an exterior back cover. I feel good about everything else and I can't wait to start adding words and working with Photoshop. It feels good to see everything starting to come together--but I am also trying not to get ahead of myself.
Being in the present right now is important. It helps me focus and not get overwhelmed.
Of course my mind likes to wander to going on a book tour and day dreams of travel. Wanderlust is strong in my soul.
Right now I am listening to the rain pour on the top of the bus and choosing to be thankful that I don't have to water my flower seeds--and also kind of hoping that they are still able to germinate in all this rain. I guess we will see soon!
Alright, I guess I should get back to painting, while I still have some energy left.
Sending you all lots of love! I hope you are all following your dreams. You deserve to.
Keep praying for our world. Pray for our Earth. Pray for each other. Pray for our families. Pray for our children. Pray for hope. Pray for peace. Pray for love. Pray for you! Pray for me. And always always pray for my sweet sweet Elijah.
Thank you.
I hope you like this book Elijah.
I hope I make you proud.
I love and miss you so much.
Always.
