Day 4 of RAOK (Random Acts of Kindness for those just tuning in): Fishing Bait and Goldfish Crackers for my son's Webelos Den.
Of course, this wasn't the most strategic "fund raising" opportunity, but it was an opportunity I couldn't pass.
My son Alex loves cub scouting. He loves the meetings, the outings and the camp outs.
But what I love is that the people in our Pack have really stepped up and made us feel at home here.
At Christmas, when things weren't so great, they stepped in and made sure our kids were taken care of. They even got Alex the one game for his 3DS he wanted, that we couldn't afford.
So tonight, even though I couldn't pay it forward to the whole Pack, I did bring an extra special treat to my son's Webelo friends.
If you can't tell, that is fishing bait in the clear bag.
But they really seemed to enjoy it! I asked them to "pay it forward" by doing a kind deed for some one else, and I really hope that they do.
Well, its time to get back to letter writing. Tomorrow I am going to attempt to pass out letters to local businesses to ask for sponsorships and/or donations of items I need for the trip.
I hope everyone is having a great night!
Thanks
Kelly Airhart
Welcome to my blog. It's a bit of a mess. I'm a bit of a mess. It used to be about just kindness. Now it is about finding strength in the darkest places. Discovering love through grief. Traveling this beautiful world. And continuing to practice kindness all because of a little boy I love and miss very much. I hope you find inspiration in all my ramblings. #loveelijah
