I'm sure we have all heard of Charles Ramsey, the brave man who rescued the group of missing girls.
This is a photo that has been floating around Facebook, and I must say that I absolutely love it.
What a simply amazing person.
He wasn't boastful in the interview I saw. He was very humble, and he was just doing what he thought was the right thing to do.
It seems so simple, but how many of us would have said, "give the reward to the rescued women."
As a lifeguard, I prevent drownings everyday; And if faced with the situation, I am trained and able to perform lifesaving rescues. I would never expect a reward for these acts, but I do get paid for them. (And I would definitely perform them off the clock as well).
However, times are very hard right now. My family is living on an extremely fixed income. The women who suffered are far more in need than myself, but I am almost sure if someone offered me a large amount of money, I would have a hard time turning it away.
I would hope that I would react the same way Mr. Ramsey did, but I have never been in that situation.
Getting closer to really planning my trip and writing this book, I hope I can always keep myself humble, like Charles Ramsey, and do good for the sake of doing good.
More importantly, I hope to inspire others to do good.
Have a great night! Thanks for reading :)
