There was a verdict read that wasn't expected.
And sadly, there was a loss of a life that many new and loved.
But even though those things are important, that's not what I am choosing to blog on today.
I believe right now it is more important for us to choose to continue to love.
Choose forgiveness instead of anger.
Choose to learn from this and not separate ourselves from each other anymore.
Choose to hug the people you hold dear instead of causing harm to those people we don't understand.
To stop discrimination we must choose to first stop division; Not only by others, but by ourselves as well.
There is a pretty popular song out there right now, and even if it doesn't relate to either of the major events of today, there is a portion of the song I feel is appropriate:
"No law is gonna change us
We have to change us.
Whatever God you believe in
We come from the same one.
Strip away the fear
Underneath it's all the same love
Underneath it's all the same love
About time that we raised up"
~Macklemore
I am trying my hardest to believe what I am doing will impact others, and that kindness matters. Please help me make it matter. You have a choice.Choose to make that choice count.Thank you,Kelly Airhart
