After going around and around with tech support, I still have not figured out how to move my domain name over, but I am on my way to some pretty nice changes...so don't loose faith in me!
If it seems I have been a little off my game lately, it's just because I have been working behind the scenes.
This past week has actually been really great.
I have a fiverr account, where I basically sale acts of kindness for $5.00, and this week I had 2 orders!

Because both of them came right in time for St. Patrick's day, I kept them as themed as I possibly could.
Because of their green logo, and my love for their coffee, I choose to get two $5 Starbucks gift cards and make cute little "care packets." I then delivered them at a local Irish pub down the street to this really sweet couple, who promised to pay it forward as well!
It's such a great feeling, making others happy.
And my fiverr clients were happy too!
"Very fast turnaround time, and THREE people got a moment of happiness. Myself, the seller, and some random person! Worth every penny!"
And the kindness doesn't stop there...
Next month is my birthday, and while I am no where near 500 years old, my goal is to hand out 500 tealight candles to be lit on April 22 for candles for kindness.
The goal will be for each person to light their candle, say a prayer (or have a moment of silence) for kindness and then post a picture of their candle on facebook with the hashtag #candlesforkindness.
You can help light up facebook that night as well by posting a photo of your candle and hashtagging #candlesforkindness as well!
And now back to the book I have been reading. "The Power of Kindness."
This blog I am focusing on the next standpoint of kindness that Piero Ferrucci mentions, and that is "contact."
But, for the sake of my interpretation, I am going to rename this standpoint to community.
Yes, contact is a vital necessity to keep us alive and well, there is no denying it. However, when I was reading this chapter, I was rather intrigued when I was reminded of the importance of community.
"Encounter with another is the field where insight and transformation occur, the avenue through which comes fulfillment." ~ Ferrucci
When preparing for my "Kind Hart in America" trip, I tried to do as much research as I could on being positive, being happy, giving, and kindness. I searched many avenues, and one of them was watching documentaries.
There were quite a few really well researched, and really interesting documentaries out there. However, the one that touched me the most, and the one I often recommend to people, is called "Craigslist Joe."
In this movie, Joe sets out with no money, and a small bag with his toothbrush and computer in it. He is essentially homeless for 30 days. Through postings on craigslist, he proves that with the combination of technology and community, there is still some hope for humanity.
The film is on Netflix, and actually very entertaining. Check it out if you have some time...
Some other intriguing thoughts about community came a little later in my adventure, when I was able to help different organizations that existed solely to support the community around them.
There is a lot going on in the world, and I find that there tends to be the belief that people are growing colder and more self absorbed.
However, I beg to differ.
Look at the amazing resources and volunteer workers all around us: homeless shelters, animal shelters, charity hospitals, crisis pregnancy centers, community outreach, food banks, soup kitchens, etc.
There are even people who dedicate their lives working to make our community smarter, and safer: police, fire fighters, nurses, doctors, teachers, coaches, librarians, etc.
We rely on all of these people on a daily basis, and we thrive on the help they give to us.
Take some time to think about how many wonderful people actually contribute to your safety and well being everyday, and really start to appreciate the community around you.
If we all start appreciating each other, helping each other, and being a little bit more kind to one another, then we will start to see a drastic change for the better.
"We really are in a tighter network and closer communication with everybody than we can imagine. And we influence others far more than we think and they know. By changing others' states of mind, we propagate ourselves in countless ways. Right in the midst of everyday life we are given the chance to touch the lives of others and thus change the world." ~ Ferrucci
Thank you for everything that you do. You are awesome...don't forget that.
Good night!
