YOLO....yeah. I went there.

For so long now I have been preparing for our trip of 1,000 acts of kindness that it feels so surreal that is has already happened.

My first week back from the trip has been a busy one.

I went back to work at my full time job.

I had to unpack and clean out my car (which was a huge mess).

However, the hardest chore was just getting our family back into a regular routine.

On the way home from the grocery store the other night, Julien (my 4 year old) told me he wanted to go back to a hotel. I think we have a future traveler on our hands.

I have been in a research and planning stage; reading a lot about kindness and positive psychology.

But probably the most enlightening moment came the other night while attending Ash Wednesday Mass.

(Don't worry, I'm not about to get preachy...)

I've gone to Ash Wednesday Mass for 30 years now, missing a few here and there.

But for some reason, this was the first year I really caught the message of "from ashes we came, and to ashes we shall return."

Our life is limited. We are only here for a moment.

No matter your beliefs, your life is a gift...be thankful, make the best of it, and start TODAY.

Just incase I'm not reaching you, in hip hop terminology, they refer to this as, "YOLO."

As for me, I plan to live my life with kindness. I plan to give as much as I can and as often as I can. And I am working on that everyday.

I am transforming my blog soon from "A kind hart in America" to simply " I-am-kind." I am in the process of moving my domain name over and redoing the whole blog page.

"A Kind Hart in America" will always be a very special project to me, and will have its own special place on my blog page, where you will be able to view the blog links from our trip, as well as pictures from our journey.

I appreciate all of you who have read my blog and continued to support me!

Things will be a little slow in the next few weeks, but I promise more wonderful things are coming!

Thank you always for reading!

1,520 days: Overwhelm.

It is 8:49am. Everyone is still asleep... I have my "happy light" shining into my  peripheral  vision, and my vitamins and medic...
