Christmas Cards for Soldiers

My original title for this post was going to be, "How to Throw a Super Fun Christmas Cards for Soldiers Party"....or something like that.

However, because I am cursed when it comes to the attendance numbers of any party I have ever planned, I will briefly go through what I had planned to happen--skip the reality of it all not happening--and then get down to the good stuff (the giving).

So, first I had 2 games planned for my guests.

The first game I had planned was guess how many Christmas Ornaments are on the tree. Pretty self explanatory.

(There are 118, just incase you were trying to guess)

The other game I had planned was, "Do you want to build a snowman?"

The game is a race to see which team can turn their teammate into a snowman the fastest. The "snowman" had to be dressed from the neck down in "snow" (aka toilet paper), and then had to have a hat, a scarf and 3 buttons attached to win. It bet it would be loads of fun, we just needed a few more people to play...lol.

Even though it didn't turn out to be quite the party I had hoped for, I do want to say I am extremely grateful for my friend Hilary who did show up. She brought tons of cards to fill out, and was super helpful.

The kids and hubby also helped out quite a bit with the signing of the cards. We also had some really nice talks about why we were sending these cards to the soldiers, and why the soldiers were so important to us.

We ended have a lot of fun together. And because of our little party, I was able to send off 128 Christmas cards for Soldiers to Operation Gratitude.

I hope to do it again next year, and send off at least twice that amount.

If you would like to send Christmas Cards, or any other care items to Soldiers, I highly recommend going through Operation Gratitude.

Well, tomorrow is another day of work, so off to bed.

Thanks so much for reading!

Be Kind,
Kelly Airhart

It is 8:49am. Everyone is still asleep... I have my "happy light" shining into my  peripheral  vision, and my vitamins and medic...
