This morning I walked to the little store in my mom's neighborhood and paid for a suspended coffee as my act of kindness in memory of Elijah. Outside there was a fat smokey colored cat and we became quick friends.
On the way back, the old men sitting on their balconies shouted, "good morning" down to me and then proceeded to yell to their neighbor teasing her about taking out the trash so late in the morning.
It was a good start to a good day.
Today my mom and the kid visited the State Capital building and then all of us (including Levi) went to a family Mardi Gras parade downtown.
My mom's friend came and joined us and brought us a King Cake and even bought the kids some little toys to play with while waiting for the parade. She was so kind to us, and we are so thankful for her kindness.
I made my next youtube video about our little trip:
I am still learning a lot about making these videos. And I will be honest that I sometimes get intimidated by watching these other travel families on youtube. I am just amazed at all these big places they are going and all these cool things they are doing. I also worry that I am not entertaining enough--although I am pretty sure the kids make up for my lack of charisma.
I also have to remember, that I have to start with where I am and do the best I can. And a lot of these families had to do the same. We will get there, but first we have to start.
So deep breaths, and with one foot in front of the other I will choose to doubt my doubts instead of doubting my dreams. I can do this, and I will do this--and be successful.
Thank you all for reading my blogs, and thank you if you decide to watch my videos. I really appreciate you more than you could ever imagine.
Well, this wild and crazy mom is about to get ready for bed. Tomorrow I am having lunch with a few of my cousins and my mom. I am really excited! I am so blessed to have such wonderful women in my life that love me.
I love you all and I am sending you lots of sweet dreams and peaceful sleep. Goodnight.
Please keep praying for our world. Pray for our country. Pray for my family. Pray for me. Pray for you! Always always pray for my sweet Elijah.
Thank you.
Hi sweet boy.
I thought about you today
and how this should have been your first Mardi Gras Parade.
Your brothers are so sweet and saved you a little cuddle pet and a little purple bouncy ball.
We love and miss you so much Elijah.
Always.
