The Giving Tree

I had planned to blog last night, but I got called into work.

One day, I will be a full time do-gooder/blogger, but until then I have to do what I can - when I can.

So, that also means updating my blog page when I can too...lol.

But because I have to leave for work in less than an hour, I will have to do that a little later...

As I mentioned yesterday, I have tweaked my "Give Back Boutique" idea a little bit, and also changed the name to "The Giving Tree."

So what is the Giving Tree?

The Giving Tree is a mobile thrift shop.

Right now we are composed of a mother and son team that operates out of the back of our SUV.

We operate completely on donations.

Our policy is "Take what you need, give what you can."

This means that there will never be someone who comes to us with a basic need and leaves empty handed simply because they couldn't afford it.

My hope is to expand our operation and becoming not only a "thrift store," but provide community outreach and family events later down the road, all free of charge.

Check out the website: http://www.givingtreethrift.com/
Also, we are looking for donations.

We are looking for donations for new or gently used toys, clothing, books, and small household items. We also are trying to provide new items such as baby needs (diapers, wipes, bottles, onsies, etc.), personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, and canned or non perishable food items. Our operation could use large clear plastic bins, folding tables, an icechest, a tent for shade, and financial contributions for inventory and operation purposes. If you are interested in donating, please email me at: givingtreemobile@gmail.com

Well, it is time for me to get ready for work. Thanks always for reading. Have a great day :)

Be Kind,
Kelly Airhart
