Endings and Beginnings

Wow.

A lot has been going on lately.

I have had work almost everyday this past week.

I had my first Giving Tree Event.

And I also learned about the untimely passing of a friend.

I want to start with a quick thought about the person in my life I lost this past week.

His name was Robert, and we had worked together at Disney's Contemporary Resort in Recreation.

At times, Robert could be difficult to work with, but what I will always remember him for is all the amazing stories he had to share. And even though his life was cut short, I feel like he truly lived his life to the fullest with no regrets; and I think that is amazingly beautiful.

I know all of you who are reading this blog have big hopes and dreams. But sadly, most of us put these things off until later because we think it will be easier to accomplish some other time.

Take my advice. Do it now.

You may have people think you are crazy. You may inspire people. But Bottom line is, your life is a gift. Live everyday to the fullest.

When I went on my trip of 1,000 acts of kindness earlier this year, I faced some of the biggest challenges in my life. I got in 2 wrecks, lost my phone and debit card while completely across the country from my home, and I spent every dollar my family had saved to take my journey.

But there is never a moment where I regret that trip.

I had a dream, I set my goal, and I accomplished it. And no one will ever take that away from me.

And thinking back to all the amazing stories Robert told me, I have confidence that Robert died in peace knowing that he never wasted a moment.

I will miss Robert, and I know that his family and friends will miss him as well. I am glad he was able to be a part of my life.

Speaking of goal setting and inspiration, we had our first Giving Tree event this past week!

We did have our challenges, especially with weather, but we manage to overcome it all and really had a great turn out.

We gave away a good bit of supplies, and made some contacts to get some more supplies. I feel like we are on our way to a successful operation...one small baby step at a time.

Here are some pictures:

We will be shooting for another event tomorrow afternoon at West Beach Park in Clermont, depending on the weather.

I will be working on updated the blog page as well this week.

Thanks always for reading, but I have to go take care of one very sleepy four year old who needs to be in bed!

Be Kind,
Kelly Airhart

It is 8:49am. Everyone is still asleep... I have my "happy light" shining into my  peripheral  vision, and my vitamins and medic...
