Today I made a list of small goals to work towards each day for Love Elijah.
Like today and tomorrow, I am making a list of ideas for acts of kindness that can be done in Elijah's memory to add to the webpage.
It is a small step, but it is helping me move forward. And forward is a good direction to go!
Today was a library day with the kids, and I checked out a couple of books too.
I finally finished reading Kid President's Guide to Being Awesome and wanted to check out The Four Agreements to read again, but they didn't have it in. So I decided to check out "The Kindness Diaries" and "The Power."
I actually read The Kindness Diaries when I was pregnant with Elijah. I own the book, but it is in storage in Florida. I picked it up today because I needed a good inspirational story and it is an easy read. Leon Logothetis is the author and also a really awesome guy who has answered some of my tweets and retweeted me when I was trying to promote The Kind Knight! I think he even ordered a copy of it. <3
I really enjoy nonfiction stories of people doing big things that go against the grain. One day I will do my big thing I suppose.
I have never read The Power, but I have listened to it as an audio book many years ago. I remember really being moved by it, so I am hoping it still has that affect on me.
It will probably take quite some time to read both of these books, because I only generally read at night while I am taking a bath. And by that time I am exhausted and ready for bed lol. But for when I do finish these books, do any of you have any suggestions for books that make you feel good and inspire the soul? Or books about kindness are fantastic too!
Speaking of reading, my kids are now up to 95 books on our family challenge of how many books can we read in a year!
In 5 more books they get a pizza party! Woohoo!
So if you are in Natchitoches, and want to help us celebrate, please let me know so I can put together a party day soon. We will probably do something simple like pizza at the playground. But I am hoping by celebrating our family reading so many books, maybe we can inspire other families to read more too!
Well, it is getting late and I am getting sleepy, so I am going to wrap things up.
Did any of you try the compliment challenge I posted the other day? I haven't got to it since the last few days where kind of hard for me, but I am going to start on it tomorrow.
If you missed it, I had read an article where a man added a compliment into conversations with every person he talked to for I think it was a month? He said it was "life changing" and that everyone should try it for at least a three day period. So tomorrow, I will start (for real this time), and let you know how it goes!
I need to add that to my planner now, lol, or I will forget.
(totally just added it to my planner!)
OKayyyy. Have a good night guys. Sending you lots of love and sweet dreams.
Please keep praying for our world. Pray for my family. Pray for me. Pray for you! And always always pray for my sweet sweet Elijah.
Thank you!
Oh sweet sweet boy.
You are my inspiration.
I will not let you down.
I love and miss you so so much.
Always.
