Ice Cream, Rat Training, and Rude Librarians...what a day.

This Friday is our Back to School Celebration, and I will have to admit, I am a little bit nervous.

I went to the library, and even though the event was approved, I can't hang a flier for it on the Library bulletin board, because we are not an "official" non profit organization.

And the librarian was super rude about it too...which made things worse. She was convinced I was selling something, and wouldn't let me get a word in; so I got aggravated and left.

Moral of this short and somewhat disappointing story? Take the time to listen to people, and don't assume you know all the details.

Blahh...enough venting...

On the bright side, we are still having the event this Friday August 8 from 10:30-1:30 at Cagan's Crossing Library Room B.

Thursday I will be headed to the store with the final collection of donations to finish buying supplies, and then I will be putting flyers out on car windshields in select areas.

We will celebrate going back to school and give out free school supplies, darn it!

I'm not going to let some Librarian in a poopy mood ruin my plans to spread joy!

Speaking of celebrating, today is a special day for my oldest son Alex!

He's at his first day at Disney's Summer Conservation Day Camp!

Today Alex's agenda includes going to Epcot to learn about ways to help the environment through sustainable farming, and then ride Soarin'. They will also start a weeklong rat training project today. I'm eager to hear about that...lol.

I am beyond excited for him, because never in my lifetime did I think such fun and educational things could happen at day camp. This is such a blessing.

When I was in daycamp, we played battle ball (aka dodge ball), kickball, or sat on the stage of the auditorium and made friendship bracelets all day long. Oh...and then there was swimming lessons at the City Pool.

Later this week Alex will be snorkeling at Typhoon Lagoon Water Park....and I went to swim lessons at the City Pool....he sure is one lucky kid.

But I'm also celebrating some time off to spend at home with the other kids too.

Levi and I took Julien (and Gabriel) to get a Kindergarten Prep activity book at the book store, and then stopped to get some ice cream at the Twistee Treat.

So all in all, today has been a pretty good day. And good days make me happy.

Before I finish up my blog and start Julien's "kindergarten book" with him, I just want to remind you that if you wanted to donate money for the back to school celebration, you can do so by clicking that lovely yellow paypal button at the top right hand corner of my blog.

Thanks again for reading :)

Be Kind!

1,520 days: Overwhelm.

It is 8:49am. Everyone is still asleep... I have my "happy light" shining into my  peripheral  vision, and my vitamins and medic...
